VANTAGE POINT

STRATEGIES

Who We Are

Vantage Point Strategies is a boutique advisory firm helping organizations navigate geopolitical complexity and adopt emerging technologies with rigor, responsibility, and context-specific tailoring.

Our firm is built around a simple premise: better decisions come from better analysis, not from louder noise.

We work with private sector, government, academia, and non-profit clients across a variety of countries facing decisions where geopolitical context, country-level risk, or the responsible use of new technologies will shape the outcome. Our core team draws on deep regional and policy expertise, and is supported by a network of senior advisors and subject-matter specialists we engage as each engagement requires.

We do not sell hype, headlines, or recycled frameworks. We sell judgment — synthesized from open sources, expert networks, and direct experience — delivered in formats our clients can actually use.

What We Offer

We offer three core services. Each is delivered as a discrete project, a retainer, or a tailored engagement.

1. Geopolitical Analysis and Advisory

We provide research, written analysis, and ongoing strategic counsel on geopolitical and policy questions that affect our clients' operations, investments, or programs.

Our work spans:

  • Custom research reports and briefings on specific countries, regions, or thematic questions

  • Strategic counsel on how shifts in trade, security, or great-power competition affect a client's footprint

  • Recurring intelligence and analysis support for institutional clients

  • Speaking engagements, workshops, and panel briefings for organizational and academic audiences

Recent and ongoing work has covered China-Latin America relations, U.S. trade and industrial policy, critical minerals supply chains, U.S.–Indo-Pacific dynamics, and the Western Hemisphere strategic environment.

We also take on engagements outside these areas where our methodology and network add value.

2. Country, Investment, and Political Risk

We prepare bespoke country and political risk briefings designed to empower decisions, not to constrain them.

Each briefing is built for a specific decision and a specific audience. We assess the political, regulatory, security, and operational environment a client will encounter, identify the risks most likely to affect their objectives, and offer a clear-eyed view of both the risks and the benefits of the engagement under consideration. Where relevant, we incorporate cybersecurity considerations and refer clients to vetted specialists for technical implementation.

Our recommendations come with options. We work in the realities our clients actually operate in — budget, timeline, mandate, risk appetite — and present alternatives across scenarios so that clients can make the decision that is right for them, not the decision that is easiest to write down. Our objective is to give clients a sharper picture of the terrain, not to substitute our judgment for theirs.

Typical deliverables include:

  • Tailored pre-travel intelligence briefings and risk assessments for individuals and delegations

  • Pre-investment/engagement country risk assessments

  • Stakeholder mapping and political-economy analysis for new market entry

  • Ongoing monitoring and advisory during the lifecycle of an investment, travel, or program

3. Responsible and Effective AI Advisory

We help organizations integrate AI in ways that improve their work without eroding the skills, judgment, and morale that make their work valuable in the first place.

This is a deliberate practice. The default trajectory for AI adoption — adopt the most popular tools, push them across teams, and measure productivity in volume — produces worse work, deskilled employees, and corrosive effects on culture. We design a different path.

Our offerings include:

  • Bespoke AI workshops tailored to an organization's specific functions, skill levels, and use cases. We teach critical, judgment-preserving use of AI tools, not button-pushing.

  • AI use policy development, helping organizations articulate when, where, and how AI should and should not be used, in line with the organization's values and regulatory environment.

  • Use-case identification and tool selection, matching the right tool (or no tool) to the right task, with attention to information security, vendor risk, and long-term capability.

  • Implementation support for organizations operationalizing the policies and workflows we help them design.

We approach AI as we approach geopolitics: with attention to context, with skepticism toward hype, and with an emphasis in preserving human judgment.

Why Choose Us

  • Tailored Solutions. We provide services specifically tailored to the individual and organizational needs of our clients.

  • Substantive expertise. We work in areas we know deeply, and we are honest about the edges of our knowledge.

  • Open-source rigor. Our analysis is built on multilingual press, satellite data, think tank and policy network engagement, and direct expert interviews. We are explicit about what we know, how we know it, and where the gaps are.

  • Cross-sector fluency. We move between government, private sector, and non-profit work, and we understand how each sector frames problems, makes decisions, and absorbs analysis.

  • Tech-literate, not tech-credulous. We use modern tools, including AI, where they make our work better — and we are direct with clients about where they do not.

  • Scaled to the question. We are deliberately small. Engagements are led by senior practitioners, not delegated down a pyramid.
